Landmark News Week of 4/8

Updated: 6 days ago

Weekly News Updates concerning Landmark HS

We had quite a week with torrential rain and a rare earthquake! I want to thank Landmark students and staff for responding calmly and safely.

This week we look forward to Monday's lunar eclipse (more info below). Wednesday we will be off for Eid Al-Fitr, celebrating the breaking of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Eid Mubarak to those who celebrate! We've got two attendance awards this week - breakfast sandwiches on Thursday and a Dave and Buster's trip Friday afternoon. Thursday we also have free vision testing for free glasses! Take advantage even if you already have a pair - to get an up-to-date prescription or a spare set.

Take care and have a great week!  Susanna

Monday's eclipse

On Monday, NYC will experience a partial eclipse starting around 2 and peaking 3:26. please scroll to the NYC school's "April 5, 2024: Letter to Families on the Solar Eclipse":

Please note that it is not safe to look directly at the sun, or to look through regular glasses or phone cameras. Landmark will distribute eclipse glasses 7th period to students. The City letter has information about where your family can get additional pairs.

Be safe and enjoy this unique event!
