Weekly News Updates concerning Landmark HS

Dear Landmark Students and Families,

This weekend marked Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. We wish a sweet and joyful new year to all who celebrate in our community.

Welcome to the first full week of classes! We hope everyone had a great first week and is settling in. Let's make this a wonderful year.

Best,Susanna

📣 Announcements

School Policies and Paperwork Students were sent home with a packet of paperwork this week, including our school calendar, the electronics policy, a shared campus letter about prohibited items, and important paperwork to ensure we have accurate contact information and permissions. Please take time to review these as a family. All forms can be returned to the Main Office, or completed online at Landmark Student Paperwork.

Entry Procedures For everyone's safety, we take building security seriously on our shared campus. Knowing who is in the building at all times is essential to keeping everyone safe. All students are expected to swipe in every time they enter the building. If you do not have your ID card, a staff member at the machine can enter your information manually. If you have lost your ID, please see Susanna, Tanell, or Raymond for a replacement. Visitors must sign in at the main entrance. Attempting to enter without identifying yourself or to give unauthorized access to anyone is a serious matter that would be treated accordingly.

Please also be aware of the list of items that are not permitted in schools. Like all NYC public high schools, our school has occasional unannounced metal detector screenings conducted by NYPD Safety Officers. Having disallowed items can result in confiscation, school disciplinary action, and a police report. Please refer to the shared campus letter about prohibited items for the full list and more information.

Join a PSAL Sports Team! 🏅

We encourage all students to get involved in one of our building-wide sports teams this year. Playing a sport is a great way to stay active, build community, and represent Landmark with pride.

Please see the attached flyer for information on all available teams. To join, you must complete the required paperwork: Physical Exam Form, Parent Consent Form

For more information, see Athletic Director Mario Simonelli in Room 440 or email him at msimonelli2@schools.nyc.gov.

Go Titans! 🏆

Schedule Changes and Counseling Support (rerun)Our 9th and 10th grade counselor, Cassie Damour (cdamour@schools.nyc.gov), will be returning from maternity leave next Friday. A huge shout-out to Karina Simancas (ysimancas@schools.nyc.gov), our college advisor and 11th/12th grade counselor, for managing all student programming during this time! Students who need a program change can visit Karina in Room 439.

Lockers (rerun)Students who have submitted all required paperwork can see Assistant Principal Tanell Pendleton in Room 435 to receive their locker assignment. Please note that all forms must be turned in before a locker can be issued.
